Stray Dogs Welfare 

When you think of a pet the first animals that comes in our mind is dog or a puppy. They are the most popular household pets in many parts of our world. The dogs are known as the man's best friend.

These merry little creatures have been have been domesticated by humans since 15,000 years ago, even before the development of agriculture. They've been the most loyal and closest to humans than any other animals. 

In the Recent years dogs are playing many important roles in different fields of activities. They've become the most important part of these fields as security dogs, therapy Dogs, helper dogs, etc. 

But even though they become parts of human lives, many dogs are being left astray by their owners. They are being left on the streets to be on their own making them a stray. People are leaving their dogs when they're becoming old, when they think of it as a burden or simply when they lost interest, etc. 

Today wherever we go we can see these stray dogs roaming around searching and following people for food. These dogs are not taken care of, insted many people treat them badly. They throw stones at them, shooing them away from places, some beating them, etc. These stray dogs were also killed in many ways accidents, electrocution, etc.  

Ways to handle stray dogs:

- When you see a stray dog don't throw stones at it unnecessarily, because it might attack you for protection. 

- Don't unnecessarily disturb them when they're not bothering you cause it might chase you.

- If you are trying to approach them for good be careful when touching or picking it up cause it might be in pain or snap at you out of fear. 

- Try to be gentle with them and try to earn they're trust. Strays are really socializing because they roam around places and see a lot of people.  

- If a stray dog approach you don't try to run or move and raise your hands as it can be interpret as a threat.

- If you find a stray dog instead of trying to hurt it, take it to the local animal shelter or to a animal control officer.

How can we decrease the population of stray dogs?

- Spay or Neuter Your Pet.

- Adopt an Animal from the CCSPCA.

- Microchip Your Pet.

- Educate Your Children, Family Members,        Friends, and Co-Workers about how to handle strays.

- Think Before You Breed or Purchase from a Breeder.

- Keep Your Pet For Life.

- Fight Puppy Mills.

- Donate to Spay and Neuter Programs.
